Math is a critical tool on any construction site. Whether you're measuring materials, calculating loads, or reading blueprints, having a solid understanding of basic math ensures precision, safety, and efficiency. This 2-hour introductory course is designed for construction professionals who want to sharpen their math skills and build confidence in applying them on the job. Using real construction scenarios, we’ll break down essential math principles and show how to apply them in ways that make sense. This class is ideal for apprentices, crew leaders, project assistants, or anyone who wants to improve accuracy and avoid costly mistakes. 

Learning Outcomes: By the end of this class, participants will be able to: 

  • Read and use a standard and metric tape measure accurately 
  • Convert between fractions and decimals for precise measurements 
  • Calculate area and volume for materials like concrete, drywall, and flooring 
  • Understand basic slope calculations for roofs and ramps 
  • Estimate material quantities and understand overage/waste 
  • Apply math skills to real-world construction problems with confidence 

Cost for members is $95 

Cost for non-members is $150 

A minimum of 10 people is required to go forward with the class.
